I haven't had a good practice since i left college.
I'm sore, i'm exhausted, and when i breathe my lungs hurt. Good sign of a hard work out.
But ya know... it's sad that i have to hurt this bad just so i know i had a good practice. Eh, oh well...
Here's what i had to do. And i'll give you the translation to the swimming slang:
25= 1 lap
50= 2 laps
75= 3 laps
100= 4 laps
200= 8 laps
fly= Butterfly
back= Backstroke
brst= Breaststroke
free= Freestyle
IM= All four strokes in the order that i listed them.
()= easy swim
Here's the set:
25 fly (175 free)
50 fly (150 free)
50 fly 25 back (125 free)
50 fly 50 back (100 free)
50 fly 50 back 25 brst (75 free)
50 fly 50 back 50 brst (50 free)
50 fly 50 back 50 brst 25 free (25 free)
200 IM
Then repeat but backwards.
(175 free) 25 free
(150 free) 50 free
(125 free) 50 free 25 brst
and so on until we do another full IM
And the interval was on the 3 minutes.
So imagine swimming 8 laps in 3 minutes.
And i would finish a 200 in about 2 mins and 30 seconds. So i would have 30 seconds rest. A lot of rest... hard set. Doing 18 200's are hard.
And then after we did that we had to do an Iron Man set! Which is a 500 (20 laps) all out. Yeah... i was dead. AM dead.
